From Haaretz: Haredim lacking education can’t find work nor support their families. What a shocker! Who would ever have seen that one coming?
“The financial pressure is having its effect and Haredim want to enter the labor market. But when 60% of them are under age 20 and 90% of them haven’t had a high school education, their ability to find work is very limited. Even if they want to work, they don’t succeed, or they find jobs whose salaries won’t support a family.”
The Israeli job market is geared toward people with a college degree or more, or at the very least people who have earned a high school matriculation (bagrut) certificate. Those without one have few jobs available, and the ones available pay poorly and offer little security.
The employment rate for ultra-Orthodox men is now only slightly higher than for men with no more than four years of formal education. In fact, a large percentage of Haredi men have no better education than that.

Why do ultra orthodox and Hassidim in particular need jobs ? They get everything for free , health insurance , doctors , hospital care and medication for free . Free rents with Section 8 government programs and in most cases free houses with HUD government programs ( if the fam is over 4 children , which is the case 100 % of the time ) . Free food more than they need with the Food stamp program , $ 250 per month , per head ,
( a family of 8 children PLUS the parents = 10 person per household , gets $ 2, 500 food stamps per month , $ 250 X 10 ppl .
PLUS They have free school AND TWO FREE MEALS PER DAY PER KID at school . Very good deals , so, why do they need to work when everything is covered AND PAID IN FULL ?
What ppl work very hard to pay for their rent or mortgage , health Insurance , food and school , the Ultra orthodox and Hassidim

They don’t have to worry for anything , they live worry free . That’s the reason why they want to stay the way they are , bc if they get out of their group , they’ll loose all those amenities and when they are on their own , they will have to pay for everything they get , rents, not eligible for the HUD program ( bc it goes through their neighborhood community council ) , no food stamps ( it also has to be filed thru their neighborhood community council ), no Medicaid ( also filed thru CC ) AND THEIR CHILDREN WILL BE REJECTED FROM THEIR SCHOOLS , big problem .
So, they stay comfortably and very secured in their system .
Also, if they get out of their group bc they want to be free , their children CANNOT GET MARRIED , NO SHIDDURIM , big problem .
So, no way Jose , they stay securely in their everything free system and do not need to work , bc FOR THEM , it does NOT PAY TO WORK to bring an income .
AND , AND ….. the most important part of the whole deal , the priceless ‘ tzedakah ‘ , ALL CASH income they get from DIFFERENT SOURCES ,
hundreds of thousands a year WITHOUT WORKING , MUCH MORE than a reg pay check , $ 100.000 to $ 200.000 a year , depending how skilled they are to schnorr and where they get the cash from , individual or company ( hedge funds, or big companies ) .
The ‘tzedakah ‘ is meant for luxury expenses , expensive wigs ,cars, clothings , eat out and travels , and throwing out parties , Shabbat parties on a regular basis , Bithdays , Bar Mitzvah , engagement parties AND SPLASHY WEDDINGS .
So, the moral of the story is it does not pay to work for a chusid or Ultra orthodox , because they established a wonderful , ‘ moschiah’ kind of system to live beautifully for free .
