Great to see you. I hope you and yours are all doing well.
I put video up just for fun, but I disagree with it too. A good parody would have cast Menachem Mendel Schneerson as the ‘Jesus of Chabad-Lubavitch,’ not merely an elf.
If you want to see some real Chabad kookiness, do a Google search for “Beis Moshiach, ” (house of the messiah).
Deceased messiahs don’t create themselves. The followers they leave behind turn them into god-men. It was that way 2,000 years ago. And history is repeating itself again in Chabad.
(My parents warned me about Christian missionaries. They never told me about the Jewish variety.)
I mean, put it this way: I know about Chabad… I’m not Chabad — but I know about it. I know about the whole Rebbe king Moshiach thing. I would rather not say my views on the subject aside from the fact that there is a POSSIBILITY that MAYBE Moshiach will be a gilgul of his Neshama. Aside from that, I would rather not talk about it…
Reb Menachem Mendel was a Tzaddik himself, though. My father, may he be well, met him in his younger years.

He was either the Messiah, or he wasn’t. The verdict is he was NOT. He died (despite what some Chabad fanatics say).
Gilgulim (reincarnations) have no place in the discussion. Anyone (Jewish or not) can – in theory – reincarnate into a physical body that is a descendant of King David. Therefore one can claim as easily that the Moshiach will be a “gilgul” of Sabbatai Zevi, Jesus, Mohammed, Walt Disney, or Attila the Hun. Perhaps even animals; Lassie, or Morris the cat.
Nonsense like this takes religion into the realm of the stupid, which is not unusual.
And of course my point was that waiting for a dead Menachem Mendel Schneerson to jump out of his grave to be our Messiah is taking a page right out of Christian theology.
WELCOME BACK :-)
